Position Title: Galley Steward
Average Contract Length: 8 months on/2 months off

Minimum Hours Per Week: 70 hours per week
Average Hours Per Week/Day: 80-90 hours per week, 10-12 hours per day
Berthing: Shared – 1-3 roommates

- Reports to: First Steward
Top 3 Responsibilities:
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and all other galley utensils
- Operate various cleaning equipment; clean all kitchen equipment and machines
- Handle and dispose of chemicals and food waste
Job Responsibilities:
- Follow opening and closing procedures for all kitchen and production areas
- Responsible for proper garbage separation and recycling
- Ensure Disney Cruise Line and USPH Sanitation requirements are met in his/her area of responsibility
- May be assigned to:
- Dishwash area: Utilizing industrial dishwash machine to clean china and silverware for guest and crew dining areas. High volume, working with chemicals, hot water, and steam. Using proper PPE. Separating of food waste and recyclables.
- Potwash area: Cleaning and washing of all pots, pans, and cooking equipment used by cooks and chefs. Using potwash machine as well as 3 compartment sink. Separating of food waste and recyclables. Use of chemicals and proper PPE.
- Night Shift: Working overnight to clean galleys. Duties consist of (but not limited to): washing walls, mopping floors, cleaning and scrubbing kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, and ovens, using heavy-duty oven cleaner and other chemicals. Usage of PPE, including respirators.
Required/Desired Experience, Qualifications, Education, Licenses:
- Previous experience in a highly physical job preferred
- Receptive to working long hours in a damp, humid area which can get very dirty and be very busy
- Ability to lift and move industrial-size cooking equipment
- Able to endure very long hours of standing
