Custodial Floor Care – Disney Cruise Line
As a Floor Care Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining high cleanliness standards across various venues, ensuring proper care of flooring, furniture, and upholstery while providing excellent guest service. This role requires physical endurance, attention to detail, and flexibility in work assignments.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: At least one year of professional cleaning or janitorial experience within the last three years, with knowledge of cleaning chemicals and tools.
- Technical Expertise: Skilled in operating floor cleaning equipment, including buffers, extractors, and carpet shampooers.
- Floor Care Knowledge: Experience working with marble, brass, wood, vinyl, carpet, furniture, and upholstery.
- Physical Endurance: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, push, walk extensively, stand, and stretch.
- Work Environment: Flexible with shifts covering both day and night; may be scheduled for custodial duties.
- Guest Service Skills: Ability to provide personalized interactions, including assisting young children.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily and rotational deep cleaning of all flooring types across venues.
- Maintain and troubleshoot floor care equipment, ensuring machines are in proper working condition.
- Manage inventory of necessary cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Respond to floor care service orders, coordinating with technical teams for maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals while maintaining equipment and supply storage.
- Support embarkation and debarkation operations by sorting and distributing guest luggage.
- Assist housekeeping teams with cabin cleaning as needed.
- Oversee safe storage and staging of luggage before the ship’s departure.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Housekeeping Manager.
