Seamstress Tailor – Disney Cruise Line

As a Tailor, you will be responsible for costume alterations, repairs, and inventory management, ensuring crew uniforms meet Disney’s quality standards. This role requires technical expertise in tailoring, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a team.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum two years of professional tailoring experience within the last four years.
  • Technical Skills: Skilled in fittings, size adjustments, and industrial sewing machine operation (hemmer, overlock, flat and straight machines).
  • Hand Stitching Expertise: Proficient in straight stitching, blind stitching, and single herringbone stitch for hemming.
  • Computer Knowledge: Basic proficiency in computer applications is a plus.
  • Preferred Background: Education or certification in tailoring or sewing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform costume alterations, repairs, and adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain and issue crew costumes, ensuring inventory accuracy.
  • Oversee fitting, sorting, and quality control of wardrobe items.
  • Work alongside the Wardrobe team to manage an inventory of 45,000+ uniforms.
  • Ensure proper garment storage, cleanliness, and maintenance of sewing room and equipment.
  • Inspect costumes returned from laundry, report repairs, and maintain designated par levels.
  • Respond to internal crew requests related to wardrobe issues.
